After several years of teaching the school cut from two primary classes to one and Leonard tried his hand at stay-at-home-dad and school volunteer. But it was during this time that he thought a lot about what a school should be. And the more he thought about what an ideal school would look like, the more he wanted his children to attend that ideal school.
After a year of running a small homeschooling group, Leonard found Serenbe and through their generous donation of facilities, Hill Country Montessori was born. Shortly after that Clifford Blizard became the school's first faculty member and helped really define our Place-Based philosophy.
Rapid growth followed. This school's vision attracted top quality faculty.
We would soon run out of space...
We needed a plan.
Serenbe Master Plan Architect, Phillip Tabb, Ph.D., and Steve Dray of The Residential Design Studio, Inc. worked with the faculty, parents, and community members to develop the plans for the next phase of Hill Country Montessori's growth.
